Further to the Prime Minister's announcement on Monday 12 December 2011, which detailed a number of changes to the Ministry, the Office for Sport and Office for the Arts came together with the Department of Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government.
The new Department is known as the Department of Regional Australia, Local Government, Arts and Sport.
