STATEMENT BY THE SECRETARY
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF THE PRIME MINISTER AND CABINET
ON THE UNAUTHORISED RELEASE OF CABINET MATERIAL

I have today asked the Australian Federal Police to undertake an investigation into the unauthorised disclosure of Cabinet material. This investigation will commence immediately.

I have also initiated a complete internal review by my Department of the present arrangements for the access to and distribution of Cabinet papers.
