Management and Accountability - Part VI - Consultants

Consultants are engaged to provide professional, independent and expert advice or services where we lack expertise or where independent assessments or input are considered desirable. We select consultants in the same way that we procure other goods and services. Details of trends in consultancies are shown at Figure 7.10.

In 2006–07 we spent a total of $4.4 million on consultancies. This comprised $1.7 million on 11 existing consultancies, and $2.7 million on 97 new consultancy contracts entered into in 2006–07.

More detailed information on all consultancy contracts let during the year to a value of $10 000 or more is available in the online version of this annual report at www.pmc.gov.au/annual_reports/index.cfm.

Further information on expenditure on contracts and consultancies is also available on the AusTender website at www.tenders.gov.au.
