• Represents OSBDCN’s interests within the national America’s Small Business Development Centers (ASBDC) organization.
Michael Lainoff began service as the State Director of the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network on September 1, 2008. Previously he resided in Flagstaff Arizona for thirteen years, and most recently served as the Founding Director of the Arizona Rural Policy Institute at The W. A. Franke College of Business, Northern Arizona University. In this capacity, he provided leadership for the Institute’s applied research, policy analysis, and technical assistance programs. Prior to this engagement, he served in Flagstaff as Coconino Community College’s (CCC) Dean of Workforce Development & Extended Learning, and as CCC’s Small Business Development Center Director and Dean of Continuing Education. Before his arrival in Arizona, he served as the SBDC Director at Oregon Coast Community College, and Training Specialist, Southwestern Oregon Community College. He operated his own consulting firm for ten years, with an emphasis on planning and communications projects.
During his SBDC career, Michael had the opportunity to facilitate three Association of Small Business Development Center (ASBDC) conference workshops: “Weaving the SBDC into the Fabric of Your Community,” (initially at Snowbird UT and an encore at Orlando FL) and “Small Business Management—Cohort-Based Training for High Impacts” (San Diego).
Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Creative Writing) from the University of Missouri, and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction (Instructional Technology) from the University of Oregon. He is an avid backcountry hiker, and spends a week each year on the more obscure trails in the Grand Canyon.

For over four years Mark has provided administration, strategic planning and program oversight to 19 Small Business Development Centers in Oregon. Coordinated fiscal grants and contracts between 17 community colleges and three regional universities in Oregon. Provide training, communication, management assistance and budget support to Center Directors and staff. Provides training, technical support, and administration utilizing statewide video conferencing, website administration, webinar platforms, and client data management system. Developed an online Moodle learning platform for Oregon SBDC Network that includes courses on social media and the use of technology in small business.
Represent the OSBDC network statewide and nationally with outreach to the Oregon Legislature and U.S. Congress, small business, the banking community, economic development agencies, as well as local, state and federal government departments. Implemented multiple new technologies statewide for the OSBDCN including installation of 25 videoconferencing units across the state and the deployment of substantial MIS upgrades and cloud based software applications.
Prior experience includes eight years as CEO/Owner of a popular restaurant chain in Alaska. Mark also was a Regional SBDC Center Director for over ten years in Alaska, after a successful career in banking.

Lisa has over 35 years’ experience in business, fiscal management, project management, supervision, public relations and marketing, she joined the OSBDCN in 2002. Her roles and responsibilities as Project Coordinator include Federal and State Contract oversight. She provides fiscal oversight and monitors OSBDCN’s19 SBDCs located throughout Oregon. Lisa has been instrumental with meeting and exceeding the financial guidelines and standards as Oregon went through the last three SBA Financial Exams.
She has been successful in monitoring millions of dollars in grants, contracts and department budgets. She has a strong background coordinating and guiding a high performing work team to meet project deadlines in any environment. Prior to joining the OSBDCN she worked for several large corporations in management capacities. She serves on the President’s team of Aspiring Leaders at Lane Community College. Weyerhaeuser recognized her for two consecutive years as "Community Woman Leader in Business”.
As a native Oregonian, she understands the importance of economics, education and community.

Nave’ has over 12 years experience in administrative offices, she joined the OSBDCN in early 2012. Her role in the OSBDCN is to provide Support to the OSBDCN Staff as well as the 19 SBDCs in the state of Oregon. Her role in the Network office as a Project Specialist includes supporting the OSBDCN MIS (Center IC) development and training for new staff. She offers support and training regarding SBA performance reporting requirements, processes the MIS updates and uploads of data to stakeholders, as well as collects annual survey data from OSBDCN clients and staff.
Nave’ also handles the vendor setups, purchasing and supports banner accounting. Finally she provides statewide support for OSBDCN projects and events.
She spent 10 years with Farmers Insurance and enjoys spending every chance she gets outdoors or in her garden with her two children.

Nate Boyd is the newest addition to the OSBDCN. Nate worked 4 years at the University of Oregon as a classroom technology support specialist. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a B.A in English and a minor in Video Production, Nate taught English overseas in Southeast Asia.
Two years later, Nate returned to the United States with a broader world view and only several cases of food poisoning. His work at the OSBDCN so far has ranged from narrative report editing to website development, and everywhere in between. He is currently working on improving processes with Center IC, creating and editing content for the Technology Improvement Program, and providing technical support to the OSBDCN and its 19 centers.
Outside of work, he enjoys brewing beer, being terrible at sports, writing, and working with a small independent video game development team. He is currently pursuing his second bachelors in Computer Science
